Question
Hi there,
Polaris 31 day chiming clock with pendulum.
I have had my clock in storage for 4 years (previously working) and have just taken it out and now I can't get it to work. It had the pendulum come off but I have been able to reattach it but it doesn't keep time. It chimes when I move the hands though. Any tricks or suggestions I could try?

Answer
Your clock obviously needs cleaning.  During its period of long storage the lubricants have solidified.  This is perfectly normal and is due to lack of action and the resulting friction.  The lubricant needs to be removed and new applied.  Regards WJP
