Question

coocoo chain?
Well sir ,

I would appreachiate a little expertise with a coocoo clock i found in a thrift store i was always facinated by mechanical movements and this is a nice old clock the movement is intact and although there is a lot of wear it still looks as though it would work. here is the problem its chains have gone all out thet are just lieing inside the reel on the left has the chain attached but the one on the right is off so i have like 6 ft of chain 4 holes and a slot there was no regulator pendalum and no weight i found a weight but still need 1 or two? and how does the winding go i see a lot of wire push bars and such but i cant figure out how the chains were strung

Answer
As far as the movement is concerned, it would not be cost effective to attempt restoration.  The parts alone, you would need would require, would exceed the total value of the clock.  The best way out of this delima, should you choose restoration, is to purchase a new movement.  They are readily available and fairly resonable of cost.  Regards WJP
