howard miller grandfather clock when i took off the pendulum off the hanger fell off how does it go back on i'm a lay person can you give me a good visual or detailed directions THANK YOU
EXTREMELY CONFUSED THIS I KNOW there's an open bottom slot and a closed top slot on the hanger and also on the works THANKS AGAIN

I have attached a notated photo of a pendulum leader assembly. It may be different from yours in the details, but the parts will be the same.
The pendulum leader, or hanger, is slightly different on different movements. I'm not sure I understand your description, but the post is the part on the movement that the other parts attach to. The suspension spring attaches to the post by a screw or taper pin; the leader (hanger) attaches to the suspension spring; the pendulum attaches to the leader. http://www.clockmasteronline.com
