Question
This is American Waltham pocket watch, appears silver, in back has engraved Clark & Giddins Ster. #5053815.  Also, inside has Dueber 01949 Silverine, Canton, Ohio.  Any info would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Answer
Jay,

Clark & Giddins is a jewelry store that had Waltham Watch Co. put the store's name on the watch.  That is called private labeling and was very common (think Tiffany's).

The Waltham Watch Company, also known as the American Waltham Watch Co. and the American Watch Co., produced about 40 million high quality watches, clocks, speedometers, compasses, time fuses and other precision instruments between 1850 and 1957.

Dueber was the company that made the case.

Kind regards,

Melvin
