QUESTION: it is running slow losing about an hour and day. it was running great until it was put in storage by mistake. please let me know if I should take it in somewhere and have it looked at or if it something I can do on my own I really love the clock and miss it running. also I was hoping you could give me a name someone that may be able to date it for me Just so I can update the history for my family, we try to keep good records on things the are important to us. the clock was a gift to my husband great-grandfather from son son. thank you

Answer
they typically put a month and year code stamped into the brass plate that is the front of the mechanism itself.gotta remove the dial to see the numbers. Is there a paper label in the back with a model name on it?

the length of the pendulum determines the running speed. it needs to be shorter by maybe 1/4 to 3/8" - look in the bck and see if the round weight bob has a threaded nut adjuster to raise it.
