Question
Hi, I have a 1920's small alarm clock which has an internal lever escapement.  For some reason unknown the balance spring has been wrecked.  I am having trouble sourcing one in the UK from my usual clock spares suppliers and wonder if you could suggest anyone who may be able to help.  Many thanks, Ashley.

Answer
Balance springs are hard to match up because they vary greatly in thickness, length and diameter. The chances of finiding an acceptable repacement are slim.  You can probably purchase an assortment from www.norkro.com The springs are not on their website so send them an email.
