Clocks, Watches/Clock feature

Question
I have a vintage Hammond electric clock. There is a hole on the dial/face exposing a spinning black/white disc. It appears to be a simple animated feature. I am going to be selling this clock and want to know how to describe this feature. What is it called? Your help is greatly appreciated. Randy

Answer
it is called a power failure indicator. when set and running the magnetic field from the coil in back holds the white portion of the disc visible, but it the power fails it rotates so the red sector appears indicating a power failure-- much like your VCR blinking the time when a storm knocks your power out!
