Question
The striker in my Ethan Allen grandfather clock is out of sync with the time, i.e. the clock shows 8 o'clock, but it strikes 10.  How do I synchronize the striker to the time?

Answer
The hour hand of your clock is friction fit to its shaft.  To correct the deficiency you, simple grasp the hour hand, as close to its mounting to the shaft, and turn it back 2 hours.  That will synchronize the time to the strike.  You will then have to reset your clock to the proper time by advancing the minute hand forwar untill coreect.  Be sure to allow the clock to complete each of its chimings before advancing to the next quarter.  Regards WJP
