Clocks, Watches/German grandfather clock

QuestionQUESTION: I purchased a German curio grandfather clock from a serviceman. The only markings I can find on the outside say "silent 4/4 silent Whitt St. Mich. Westm." on the right side of the clock face (when looking at it) and "Made in Germany" at the bottom of the clock face. Where do I look to find model no. etc. The rod holding the pendulum has broken into 2 pieces where it is held together by a screw. How do I get a replacement rod for it?
ANSWER: back brass plate of the mechanism will have needed info. I do not understand about the "2 pieces where it is held together by a screw" might be easier to get it soldered or braised or welded than replaced. can you attach a photo?

QUESTION: Ok - here's a picture. The rod screws into the pendulum (or is it called the lyre?). I hope you can see where the break is - that's where there is a screw. We are concerned if we weld it that it will throw off the balance. What do you think?
Answerthe pendulum is an assembly generally made up of a rod with a hook on one end and threads on the other to have a nut to hold the disk or weight bob on to the bottom of the rod and provide a means to adjust the disk up or down to regulate the speed of the clock- above the disk may be some decoration in the shape of a lyre, just for looks.
there is NO concern for balance here at all--if you can weld it and reassemble it - go for it.
