Clocks, Watches/Linden wall clock

Question
have a Linden clock made in Japan. It has been in my family for 30+ years. Several years ago, it stopped running. It has a battery operated, quartz mechanism. The brass plate on the mechanism has the following inscription "NO(0) JEWEL CUCKOO CLOCK MFG JAPAN UNADJUSTED." I can provide a picture if necessary. I know that the clock is at least 32 years old as my father purchased it for my mother the year I was born. Where could I possibly purchase a mechanism to repair the clock? (I contacted a local repairman who was unable to assist, saying that he had stopped working on clocks from Japan because he "had trouble getting the parts" to repair them.) Thank you for any help you can offer.

Answer
no one repairs these - you must have mis-communication with your local repairman? The mechanism is replaced in its entirety normally - do not know why he was not helpful there. Is this a single "D" cell battery unit that hits on actual metal chime rods with real hammers? and has a pendulum? Picture would be very helpful of the mechanism.
