Question
When I set out clock back for day light saving time, it still chimes an hour ahead despite the time being moved back. Example it is two o'clock but chimes 3 times. Did I damage the clock by setting clock back or did I need to move it a ahead when I set the time for day light saving time? Help!!! It bugs me that the chime is now wrong. How cane I fix this??

Answer
It sounds like you moved the hour hand back one hour rather than moving the minute hand. When you move the hour hand, nothing changes inside the clock and it still thinks the hour is the same.
Move the hour hand back to the time that the clock is striking.
Most modern clocks can be set by moving the minute hand backwards. I am not familiar with your make of clock so I can't say for sure that this is safe.
If the clock is over 50 years old you may have to set it by going forward. If your clock has a silent setting on the face, put the lever to silent and advance the hand 11 hours.
If there is not a silent lever, you will have to let the clock chime and/or strike before advancing further. If it is a 3 weight clock this will be every 15 minutes on the dial. If it is a 2 weight it will be every 1/2 hour.
