Question

Hamilton watch
How are quartz watches powered? If they need a battery, how does one get the back off? This back has no little notches to move the back. Thanks. Bev

Answer
Ms. Beverly,

Quartz watches are powered by batteries.  You need to slip something very thin, like a single edged razor, between the case back and the case.  On this watch, the case back is the round part.

It looks like the crown is no longer on this watch.  If that is the situation, this watch won't work until you replace it.

Kind regards,

Melvin
