Question
I had a Grandfather given to me by my sister whom never had the clock set up and working. I now have it set up, leveled and working and it is keeping good time so far. The problem is it will not chime. I have keep changing the switch on the face of the clock that you either set it to chime of silent. Twice i have moved the switch and have gotten it to chime once each time. Other then that, it will not chime. Am i doing something wrong? I have even checked the weights and they were marked and hung correctly.

Thank you

Answer
need to define terms here.

chiming is the quarter hour tune(Westminster-4 note sequence)
the hour is the STRIKE

you say " i have moved the switch and have gotten it to chime once each time"----does this mean you got ONE note out of it after moving
the switch or a complete chime sequence of 4-8-12-or 16 notes??
