Question

DSC01276.JPG
I am toying with the idea of going in for a Schatz Anniversary clock, however the dial is in such bad shape that the paint just keeps flaking off. However it has a lovely spider web design and I would want to capture it on the computer and have it redone. Kindly let me know whether the dial is detachable from its housing? Is the dial on a metal disk or is it merely sandwiched between the metal disk and the brass housing surrounding it and crimped in 3 positions i.e. the 12 o'clock, 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock positions? How is it removed from the housing? Please throw some light on these aspects.

Answer
Over the years Schatz has used literaly hunreds of means to secure their dials.  Your description suggest yours is one of the many snap-on types.  Without seeing the clock myself I would not presume to render instructions on how to proceed.  Perhaps, if you could send me, a picture of the reverese side, I could be of real help.  Regards WJP
