Clocks, Watches/Stuck Hand

Question
I recently bought a mantle clock at a flea market. I got it level and it ticks away quite happily. It strikes and chimes as it should.

When the minute hand gets to 7 it refuses to go uphill. If I move it up near the 12 it carries on as normal.
Any ideas?
Regards
Ian

Answer
typically this is caused by a nasty internal gear problem that only a pro can fix. However - it you move it to 12, like you say, and you leave it alone, will it then move through 7 like it should? sometimes the internal gear problem has loose and tight areas, and if you leave it in the tight area- then the hand will work all the way around like it should.
