Question
I am trying to find information on a American Waltham Watch Co. pocket
watch.  It is a sidewinder.  Serial number on the movement is  #16162237.  It
has a 17 jewel movement.
The Back case says it was made by the Philadelphia Watch Case Co and has a
serial # 256265.  The back cover is engraved with a picture of a train on
tracks.
It is silver.  Can you tell me anything about it.

Answer
Adelaide,

Based on the serial number, this watch was made in 1907.

Waltham Pocket Watches were made from 1851-1957.

They have a good reputation and are collectable.

A 17 jewel movement is a somewhat high grade movement and would
still keep accurate time even by today's standards( assuming it is serviced regularly).

Kind regards,

Melvin
