Clocks, Watches/oiling points

Question
I have a 1974 Montgomery Ward Grandfather clock I need the oiling points or do I just oil the gears? need help

Thanks

Answer
Hi Terry, you only want to oil the points where the pivots go through the plates. Pivots are the ends of the gear shafts. There is a small indent on the outside of the clock plates where the pivots go through the holes. This is an oil sink. Put just enough clock oil to fill this oil sink.
