Question
bill, hope i,m not a problem but you always seem to have the answer, on this daisy kitchen clock the hour strike gong is real high pitched and tinny sounding, it there any way to get a more bass sound? thanks for any info. chuck

Answer
The sound you are getting is indigenous to the breed.  They do make an awfull clatter.  This is one of those instances I frequently ignore the allmost mandatory requirement of maintaining original.  You can change this by replacing two parts, 1) the hammer, use a soft head and 2) the gong. locate one that fits and sounds good to you and install it.  When I do these awfull things I always put the removed parts in a bag and tape them to the bottom of the clock.  In which case a totally original type will have the parts and nothing to gripe ablut.  Regards WJP
