Question
Hi Mr. Mills, I appreciate any information you can provide concerning my sterling silver Admiral pocket watch; it has a porcelain face; ADMIRAL and U.S.Pat. MAY,24 1904 are only words on movement. Face bears 'Admiral' in script at top. one jewel. Nothing else.  I can find nothing. Thanks.

Answer
Ron,

The Tavannes Watch Co (started by Henri Sandoz in 1891) trademarked the Admiral name in 1896 and continued too use the Admiral name through at least 1956.

In 1904,Henri Sandoz received two Swiss patents and one US patent for a winding and setting mechanism with few parts.

Kind regards,

Melvin
