Question
QUESTION: I am having problems with my Ansonia Mantel Clock. I have been looking for some directions on how to adjust it but can't find anything.  I wind it and it runs for only a few days.  It looses anywhere from 1-3 mins during that time.   Also, it is really loud and I noticed an arm that I can place down to the striker(s) but it is fairly loose, can I tighten that screw?  Any help is appreciated..a repair manual would be fantastic.

ANSWER: I do not know how old your clock it- sounds like a more modern one with a German made Westminster chime movement?

Any info stamped on the back brass plate of the mechanism itself?? then I could be helpfull--

the screw I would think you can tighten if you want to.

QUESTION: it is about 7 years old to me...  the stamp on the back is  "M"  Two(2)Jewel Unadjusted, Made in Germany Ansonia Clock Co, Inc. 340-020A.

Answer
adjuster
adjuster
M is a code for being made in the year 2000- Hermle made the mechanism in Germany for Ansonia and 340-020 is their number for the entire mechanism, still in manufacture for years to come.

I suspect you are not winding the center winder fully to get a full week's run.

the adjuster in the back is a tiny screw slot on the end of the shaft as seen in the attached - counter clock wise speeds it up- (trial and error here)
