Clocks, Watches/Correcting chime on Grandmother Clock

Question
I erred when resetting my Aunt's Grandmother clock.  I pushed the hour hand back.  We have managed to get the clock working again, but the chimes are 1/2 hour ahead of the actual time.  In other words, it chimes the half hour on the hour and the 3/4 hour chime at the 1/4 hour.   How do we correct this problem?

Answer
Different clocks are reset in different ways. Without knowing exactly what movement is in your clock I'll be guessing. Most modern grandfather clocks automatically reset the top of the hour, obviously yours did not.
If your movement is a Jauch, you would move the minute hand back 15 minutes then forward to make it chime the next quarter. Do this twice and your chime should be back to the top of the hour.
If you moved the hour hand, you will need to move it again to whatever hour your clock strikes.
Let me know if this corrects your problem or not.
