Question
I received this clock in 1999 as a gift.  It's worked great till about a month ago.  It quit working and chiming, so I changed the batteries, now the pendulum works, but the hour/minute hands to not move.  What could be wrong with the clock?

Answer
Ruby, battery operated quartz clocks are not expected to last more than about 12 years. Although you did not get quite that much enjoyment out of it I would guess that the movement has failed. If you put good batteries in the movement and it still does not work, it is time to buy a new movement. Nearly all of the parts inside the movement are plastic and they are not considered to be of high quality.
Hopefully you can replace the movement without much expense or trouble. I can try to help you match up a replacement. Does the clock have chiming capability of is it just a time and pendulum movement?
