Question

Clock
I have a wall clock by Trend, made in Germany. It is in the shape of a nautical wheel. The wheel and spindles being made of wood. The rest of the clock is brass, including the works. It has a key wind. I am just trying to find out a bit of history on it (age, etc) and have had not much luck searching.

Answer
As far as I know, Trend did not make any clock movements, only the cases. They made a lot of Grandmother and Grandfather clock. The movement inside your clock is probably German and most likely made by Hermle. This clock was intended for home use, not for on a ship.
There might be a two digit date stamped on the movement back but you would have to remove the movement from the case to see it.
Trend clock company was purchased by Sligh (one of their competitors) in 1968. I don't know if they kept the Trend name for use on clocks made after that.

I hope this information helps you.
