Hello my husband and I have an old coocoo clock and it strikes for every hour on the half hour so what I am saying is if it is 4 o'clock it will on coocoo once at 4 and then at 4:30 it will coocoo 4 times I hope someone can help.

these generally work on a count wheel system--trips the cuckoo on the 6 and on the 12- each time advancing the hour one more or doing one for the half hour.

try moving the minute hand to 3 minutes before the hour and then backing up the minute hand to 20 minutes before the hour. That should trip it once more each time you do it--and you can work it around till the strike is syncronized with the hand time. advise if this does not work this way - it could operate on a more modern system.
