Clocks, Watches/grandfather chime operation

Question
I recently assembled a grandfather clock for a neighbor..
It's a 31 Day wind up job made in China..

After setting & winding initially,,it only chimed once on the hours & once on the half hour.

After running overnight it started chiming correctly on the hour example: 3 o'clock 3 chimes...

Now it has reverted back to only one chime on the hour & the half hour works normally,,it has kept accurate time for about 3 days..

This clock's got a mind of it's own...

Answer
rack is not dropping properly on the snail. see attached URL:

got to have access to the front of the mechanism to see what is going on.

rack tail probably needs a slight bend or could be more complicated like a lift lever needing to be bent so the lift is higher to drop the rack properly
