Question
I have a battery operated pendulum clock we bought in the 70's. The battery operated motor actually winds the main spring and the pendulum operates the clock. It is a Harris & Mallow Prod. Farmingdale, NJ Mod. 315 It also has Cosmo Elec. Japan c1201c sf on it. The main spring is broken so I need to replace the entire works. Can you help find a new one?

Answer
Hi James,
Quartz battery pendulum movements are available from clock supply houses like Timesavers, Merritts Antiques or Empire Clock. The replacement movement will be different from your original movement, which is long obsolete. Installation of these movements is quite easy. The movement is attached to the dial by a single nut on the handshaft. You must make sure that you get a movement with the correct handshaft length, so that the hands neither hit the dial nor stick out too far. Your original pendulum may not work with the new movement. Adjustable pendulums come with these movements that can be snapped off to the correct length for your clock.
