Question
QUESTION: It appears my escapement gear is worn, can I get a replacement? Or does the gear have to be rebuilt? It runs for about 1 1/2 minutes and stops, the gear looks worn at the contact points, I did disassemble, clean and oil movement. 1984? but new to me. Thanks

ANSWER: would be the first Hermle escape wheel I have ever seen worn in 35 years if it is! more likely out of beat or needs little oil on the entrance and exit pallet faces of the anchor verge or the depthing is wrong ( the distance between the verge and the escape wheel teeth- often adjustable in the rear with two screws holding the rear pinion shaft of the verge arbor.

no pictures of this movement available to me - it is a rare one.

QUESTION: Great answere and info. I changed the escapement adjustment and now it keeps going. I just dont know how to "correctely" adjust it? And guide lines or directions?
Link for stock photo = http://www.klockit.com/products/dept-9__sku-13010.html.  I dis-assembled the movement and cleaned the pivots and then re-oiled with 1 drop of clock oil per pivot. Do I need to oil the escapement gear or anchor verge? Again - very helpfull answere, now I feel better.   Howard

Answer
Just oil the face of the anchor verge that the tooth hits first on one side and then the face that the tooth hits on the other verge face.

how to "correctely" adjust it? And guide lines or directions---verge too close to the escape wheel and it will lock up and not tick at all--back it up till it just will tick-tock.
should hit on the flat of the anchor verge then slide down as the pendulum swings and the escape wheel tooth will slip off the angled tooth tip of the verge-- basically if it runs ok --you musta got it right.
