Question
I have a pocket watch with a US PAT. date of May 24 1904. It says ADMIRAL on the face and on the movement side. It Has a clear back to see the movement. It was passed down from a Great Uncle to me and it is in like new cond. could you please tell me the maker and style of watch.  Thanks

Answer
John,

The Tavannes Watch Co (started by Henri Sandoz in 1891) trademarked the Admiral name in 1896 and continued too use the Admiral name through at least 1956.

In 1904,Henri Sandoz received two Swiss patents and one US patent for a winding and setting mechanism with few parts.

Kind regards,

Melvin
