Question
Hi Mr Perkins. My name is John. I have recently purchased an old wood boat that I made my home.I live aboard her. There is a very nice clock on it.The face says Salem ships bell, then says Switzerland on the front lower part. It has 2 spots to wind it up. I can't find the key to wind it up. Do you have any idea where I could find a key to wind it with? It's really nice, and I imagine it would be nice to hear the bells too.I live in Phila,Pa. Thanks alot. It's so nice of you to offer your help on this site. Thanks, John Burkle.

Answer
I suggest you take your clock to a jewelry store.  They could fit you clock to a proper key.  The consequences of an improper key are far more dire than no key at all.  By the way, are you familiar with the ship bell sequences?  If not I could direct you to some useful information.  Regards WJP
