QUESTION: Hi William, I have been given a wall clock passed down from my grandmother I always called it a grandmother clock  inside is a sticker  that says Karl Lauffer Uhrenfabrik Schwenningen aN what I'm trying to find out is how old this clock is it was a match pair, belved glass pieces on front, big round brass pendulum do you have any idea?? or where I can go to find out have tried Internet cant seem to find anything on K. Lauffer, clock runs great
keeps time perfect has the old style wind up key with the 2 holes one for hands one for chimes Can you help?? Thank-you Laura  P.S the other clock is also still in family

ANSWER: I am sorry I can find no reference to this clockmaker.  I suggest you contact the German Embassy in Washington, D.C. to inquire whom you should contact to obtain history on the firm.  I am sure you will find them very helpful.  Not only is their a prospect of having fun, you might even make a new friend or more.  The Embassy e-mail Address is <ge-embus@ix.netcom.com>  Let me know how this comes out.  Regards WJP
