Question
I am trying to track down some info about the Trend 400 day clock. Perspex dome about 9". Is the "anywhere" I can get some info on them. Who made the movement etc. Trend Clock Co. is not listed in Terwilliger's repair guide. I have the ninth edition

Answer
In his day Charles Terwilliger was the undisputed expert on information related to anniversary clocks.  If he didn't address a certain movement it was not addressed anywhere.  Looking back upon my own experiences I to came face to face with a Trend and was unable to locate any information on the movement at all.  I called Charles and he advised me to reduce the movements back plate to a drawing with precise measurements and then search the backplate illustrations provided by his book, The Horolovar 400 day Repair Guide.  Low and behold I found it under The Hermle series.  From that experience I learned, 1). make an accurate depiction of the clock in questions backplate.  2). begin my search with locating the same cut-out  3). match plate size  4). and final match up holes.  It's tedious but it works.  Hopes this helps, regards WJP
