Question
I HAVE A CARRIAGE CRYSTAL BRASS REGULATOR CLOCK. I CAN MAKE OUT SOME OF THE MAKERS SIGNATURE. I CAN READ "HANDS" IT IS VERY OLD, YOU CAN SEE THRU 3 SIDES AND THE TOP. THE FACE IS WHITE IN COLOR. THERE SEEMS TO BE INTIALS ON THE BOTTOM LEFT SIDE. I CAN NOT FIND ANY INFO ON THIS CLOCK. CAN YOU HELP.

Answer
The information provided is inadequate to any analysis.  In situations such as these the researcher needs to know at least the following.  The size, (all dimensions) Size and type of dial face, any marks on the dial, type of numbers, pattern and size of hands of hands, number of winding holes, position of speed regulating shaft,  description of pendulum, description of case and materials used in its construction, description of doors, description of top and base of clock case, details of information stamped or painted anywhere on the clock and pictures.  Within the picture you should always include a perpendicular or horizontal measuring device, such as a yard stick.  With information such as this a knowledgeable clock mechanic could come up with some information about the clock.  If you want to try me on this, send the information to my e-mail address, <flashpowder@hotmail.com>  use crystal regulator as subject.
