Question
I have an antique bronze clock from the 1890's. There is a greenish discoloration on the clock. Should I clean this off or will that ruin the history or lower the value.
Any info would be great. Thanks

David

Answer
If the coloration is the natural patina of bronze I would certainly not do anything to diminish the coloration of age.  I recommend that you discus this problem with an knowledgeable antiquarian.  If I'm not mistaken you could find one amongst the allexpert roster.  Regards WJP
