Clocks, Watches/Fixing the time

Question
I just brought a grandfather clock to my house that my father made 18 years ago.  My husband went to change the time, but didn't know he needed to stop and each quarter hour to wait for the chime.  Now the time is three hours off and I don't know how to fix it.
It is an Emporer clock, but I don't know anything other than the name.
Thanks for any help you can send my way.  I know nothing about clocks.
Susan

Answer
The hour hand of your clock is friction fit, you can move it with your fingers.  All you need do is move the hour hand to a position consistent to the strikes.  I would suggest you stop the clock during the period of adjustment.  Example the clock has struck 4 times but the hour hand points at 1.  Grasp the hour hand as close to its post as you can and push it back to 1.  Restart the clock and you are done.  Regards WJP
