Question
Elderly neighbor has it. It will not chime anymore. No instructions and I cannot tell how to set buttons on back of battery operated mechanism. Keeps good time. PENDULUM TYPE.

Answer
Hi Eugene,
First, of course, make sure that you have fresh batteries in the movement.
Battery chime movements have been made in many different varieties, and the setting procedure for some of the older ones is not user-friendly. If your movement is a Hermle model 2214 or 2215, get back to me at my website, www.clockmasteronline.com, and I can provide you with setting instructions. In the case of other movements, your only option may be to try to get an instruction sheet from the manufacturer. Linden Clocks has gone through changes in ownership so, if your clock is older, you may not be able to get an instruction sheet.
