Clocks, Watches/Looking for info on old clock...

Question
My mother had a very unique clock that was recently stolen from her ex.  :(  We have no idea what type of clock it was, and it's been impossible trying to find something online like it when I don't even know what it was called.  I know it was pretty old (but no idea how old), was a wooden square-shaped mantle clock on feet.  On the top of it was how you wound it up, by spinning a bar type thing with weights on it around.  When the clock started, this spinning thing on top would spin first in one direction, then the weights would wrap around a metal type pole, then it would spin in the other direction.  Any information on this type of clock would be so greatly appreciated, as I would love to try to find my mother a replacement.

Answer
sure! the originals were made by Jerome and co in 1880s and are reasonably rare. However most you see are reproductions made by the Horolovar Company in the 1960s. they are lousy timekeepers and don't run well but are fun anyway.

buy them on Ebay :
