Questiondear sir,
I am alex k. gonzales of Argao, Cebu Philippines. Our town of Argao will be
celebrating its 400 years as a town. one of the efforts we are undertaking as
part of our celebration is to restore our belfry clock which i think dates back
to the 1800. it is a mechanical clock which is attached to our 8 bells in our
church belfry. i was wondering if you can provide us information as to the
makers of belfry clocks in the 1800. most of the parts have been lost or
looted. Hence we would like to known how we can find the makers of this
type of clocks and maybe get a diagram of the clock and its parts and maybe
how much it would cost to have it reconstructed. Your information will be of
great help to our town's heritage. thank you for any help you can give us.
very truly yours,
alex k. gonzales

Answermany US companies made many different tower clock mechanisms- not to mention those made by other companies in other countries. Would need photos of remaining parts to show to people I know to try to ID your clock mechanism. Very remote possibility of restoration- but possible. Would take several years to complete. Advise
