Question
I purchased a grandfather clock with above movement. The chains and weights were not assembled. Can you tell me where to get (or provide) information / pictures of assembly?

Answer
Hi Bob,
The chains are simply threaded onto the sprockets until they catch a sprocket tooth, then you rotate the sprocket until the chain emerges from the other side of the sprocket and you can pull the chain down. Attach the hooks to the weight end of the chain, and the tabs to the pull end. When you hang the weights, make sure that the heavier weight is on the right side as you look at the clock.
If your clock came with the movement already mounted in the clock, you will have to remove the movement first to install the chains. There are many different ways that movements mount in clocks but, in general, you must remove two mounting screws that go up into the movement from the underside of the seatboard. On some clocks, you must remove the wood dial frame first, and on some clocks you may need to remove the dial also. I wish I could be more specific about this, but there are many slight variations in mounting methods.
