Question
Martin,                                                      I just received this clock as a gift. My question is too simple, HOW do I wind it? Is there any order or tightness?  Also there is the #42 handwritten inside the back panel of the mohogany cabinet.  Does this have any possible signifigance?  Thank you,  Randy

Answer
Hi Randy,
The most important factor in winding is that you wind all three arbors all the way, as far as they will go. This is an 8-Day movement, and should be wound once a week. It doesn't matter what order you wind the arbors in.
The number inside the case is a manufacturing notation and has no practical significance.
