Question
Recently obtained a G/F Clock. New it was specially beautiful. Design of case and brass applications.  All there. Would you refinish or leave as is.  A little of the veneer (not very much in any one spot, talking real small areas)  and serial number is 1463. Is there any data on dates by serial number.   Thanks in advance.

Sorry "NEW" should have been knew.  This is a LFS noted by being stamped on back of movement. It has fifty (50) different items of bronze applications.  The trademarks noted in "TRADEMARK INDEX OF EUROPEAN ORIGIN"  by KARL KOCHMANN  have a circle around the LFS, this movement does not have this circle, just the LFS. By the serial number being in the 1400's does this mean it was made around 1840. I have seen several Lenkirch G/F and this one is by far more beautiful than any of them. Again in advance THANKS   DAN n TN

Answer
I am having problems forming a response to your inquiry.  I have gone to Karl Kochmann's book and have found information I am sure you would be delighted to see.  My scanner refuses to copy the page, no matter what I do it throws me back an error message----E-30   Placement error.  I will work on this problem and if I can solve it would be pleased to forwards the results.  Please provide your e-mail address so that I may do so.  Regards WJP
