Question
My mother left me a Phinney Walker alarm clock. It doesn't run and it is wound all the way. We tried rocking it gently back and forth to try and start it.
What do you suggest we do to get it running?
Thank you.

Answer
rock it violently back and forth clockwise and counterclockwise and if you hear no ticking immediately - it needs work internally. If you get it ticking but it will not stay ticking- shake it and then quickly lay it on its face to see if it stays running- if so let it go that way for a day and then try it upright.
