Question
The clock was working fine until I turned the hands one hour ahead for daylight saving time.  Now, the clock still ticks, but the hands don't move at all.  (The batteries are good.)

Answer
Hi Amy,
First, I would check that the hands are not hitting each other at any point, either along their length or at their centers where they attach to the hand shafts. You may need to press the hour hand onto its shaft a bit farther if the hands are in contact.
Next, Hermle movements such as yours have a mechanism for adjusting the strike point. There is a slight possibility that this is the cause of your problem. To correct it, press on the setting knob on the back of the movement while you simultaneously press on the minute hand center nut. Move the minute hand back and forth a tiny bit while you do this. If the cause of your problem is that the internal gears have slipped out of engagement, this may correct it.
Quartz movements are sealed units, and internal repair is not a possibility, so if the above methods do not correct the problem, you may need to replace the movement.
