Question
I have two identical Welby (except for case) table clocks.  One has a cardboard "box" w/A4P-1000 and 214 12 77 printed on it.  It contained 4 AA batteries hooked in such a way as to furnish 6 volts.  The other is missing the box.  Where Can I find one?  Tks very much.

Answer
Hi William,

I'm not sure I understand your description but, in general, parts for battery powered clocks are not available. It is usually necessary to replace the entire movement, and very often with a movement different from the original, but compatible with the clock in size, handshaft length and handshaft diameter. If the box you refer to holds the entire movement, this would be the best solution.

If the box is just a battery container, you may be able to find a similar part at an electronics store like Radio Shack, which will connect 4xAA batteries in series. It would also probably not be too difficult to fabricate such a container.

If I've misunderstood any of your description, please feel free to contact me again, and I'll try to provide further assistance.
