Question
melvin, sorry guess i had my head somewhere else. what i need to know is how do i seperate the movement from the case?thanks chuck

Answer
Chuck,

Do you have a loupe?  If not, get one.   It is a necessity.

Now, make absolutely sure that the back of the case will not come off.  It may screw on and off.  Look for the place where the back and the case would meet if they screwed together.

In pocketwatches, the movement generally slides out and is not attached to the stem.

If it is attached to the stem, there will be a release screw on the movement.

Look around the dial and the case where they meet to determine if it is held in by a screw or if it is friction fit.  The 6 o'clock side might just slide up and you can then pull the movement out and away from the stem.

Try that first and let me know how you make out.

Melvin

As an aside, if it is possible to learn on an american pocketwatch, it will be easier for you.
