Question
Hello William: we have a battery operated pendulum school clock which is about about 30 years old. The clock mechanism stopped suddenly and battery replacement (D Cell)has not corrected problem. This clock mechanism drives the pendulum as well as the hands, the two are not separate mechanisms. The battery winds the motor about every 9 minutes, which one can hear so is not a quartz movement. The movement has "Cosmo electric, Japan" stamped on the back metal plate. Could you advise me on how to obtain a new movement for our clock. Many thanks, Phil Sanders,San Felipe, Baja Mexico

Answer
I do not normaly respond to inquiries involving non-mechanical clocks.  However in this instance I believe I can provide you with information that will help you.  I will provide you with e-mail addresses of 3 clock materials houses.  Bring up which everone you wish and puruse their on line catalog to scan available replacement movements.  Merritt's Antiques located in Pa. <merrits.com>   TimeSavers, located in Az. <timesavers.com>  and last Ronell Clocks located in Or.  <ronell.com>.  I am sure you will be able to acheive satisfactory results through either of these firms.  Regards WJP
