Question
can you suggest a good way to rebush mainspring barrels, worn barrels seem to be a common problem and buying new ones gets expencive or impossible

Answer
I have never heard of rebushing a clock mainspring barrel.  Do you really mean that, or, are you wondering about the mainspring staff bushings?  If indeed the passages for the mainspring staff do become so worn that they require refurbishing the task to do so would be mostly precision hand work, ergo, expensive.  I would suggest getting a firm price quote before commissioning such work, weigh that cost against barrel replacement cost.  Also I would suggest you acquire any parts you need from a bonified clock materials house, such as;  Merritts, Empire, TimeSaver, Ronell etc.  I have probably shot all around your question without hitting anything.  If that be the case give me a little clarification.  Regards WJP
