Question
I have a 1171-850 mechanical movement with 3 weights. There is also a second hand for the clock face. The center weight seems to be bound. When I pull slightly on the center weight the second hand will rotate correctly. Once I let go of the weight the second hand stops? Any ideas?

Answer
first thing th check is where the weights are---heaviest goes on the right as you face the clock(may be marked on the bottom of each weight) and the next heaviest in the center. 9.9lbs on the right and center and 7.7lbs belongs on the left - hopefully the weights are just mixed up.
