Question
QUESTION: I have this granddaughter clock made by ridgeway, and on the back it has the warranty card from ridgeway with the information model 121 movement e serial 1268.My question is,I purchased this clock at a good will store and I it was in great condition.it has the date of delivery as April 25,1970 how do I determine the value.your help would be greatly appreciated.
William

ANSWER: What did you pay Goodwill for it? Probably your answer.
These all loose value- and most of these need rebuilding after 20-25 years so yours is 38 years old and way past it's normal life span so,unless it had extensive work, it is NOT in great condition but might be a nice piece of furniture that is worth putting a new movement in(400-500 dollars) and then it would be worth $500 MORE than you paid Goodwill for it!

QUESTION: I payed $35.00 and all I could find is the main spring was broken, the brass weights have no discoloring are dents, the case is in new like condition, and the movement shows no sign of wear.So I beleive that has been done by the previous owner there was a card on the back from restoration specialty along with the original warranty card.I replaced the spring and I only had to make a small adjustment,I think someone had already had it restored. It runs great. So I got more than a nice piece of furniture. So if this has already been done, then my $35.00 dollar investment turn out to be a deal.I want to thankyou for your quick and honest answer.
Thanks William

Answer
I guess I was mislead by your description of the clock as being a Granddaughter clock. I have always used that word to describe a floor clock shorter than a grandfather clock. I take it you have a spring driven wall clock? You can look for them on Ebay and see what similar clocks sell for. 35 dollars sounds like a good deal even if you hang it on the wall and make a planter out of it.
