Clocks, Watches/Black Forest

Question
QUESTION: My fiancee just got a brand new Original Black Forest cuckoo from her mother.  I have two questions.  I've adjusted the time regulator screw all the way down (as far as it will go without coming off) and it's still running fast.  The second question is that it seems to stop running after just a day or less.  Is there anything I can try before taking it somewhere?

ANSWER: Perhaps your pendulum is not hung properly.  Check your manual with respect to, "how to".  If it is other tahn that I suggest you return the clock to the seller for exchange.  Nearly all these vendors are most anxious to please their customers, ergo, I suspect you would have no problem on that score.  As to The second part of your question, your clock is most likely a 30 hour clock.  Regards WJP

QUESTION: Well...returning it may be as costly as taking it somewhere here for adjustments...we live in the United States, not Germany.  Unfortunately the pendulum is very simple to attach, you can pretty much be a sharp as a bag of wet hair and still figure it out.  It's an 8-Day clock.

Answer
I have obviously failed to meet your needs.  I am indeed sorry for that.  This is one of those situations where seeing is a must.  Also I had no way of knowing the manufacturer did not have USA representation.  Most do and very willingly stand behind their product.  Regards WJP
