Question QUESTION: I have a "Daneker Floor Clock, Million-Rutherford Co, Style g66" that was my mothers. In moving one of the chimes broke off. I have one pc. of it and the other pc.is still screwed into the metal chime "holder". A clock repair person said they can't replace just one chime bar (plus I can't get the other pc. unscrewed to take it out), that I need to replace the whole chime section. Is this true? If so where can I Order a replacement? Thanks!
ANSWER: Screw in chime rods are replacable and available. Sometimes the stubs are difficult to remove, but removable they are. Tell me what area of the usa you reside and I will provide you with the name of a clock supply house in your area. Regards WJP

QUESTION: Thank you for your answer. I live in Greenville, South Carolina...which is close to the border of NC (Hendersonville-Ashville), so I could go to any of the surrounding areas if there is a supply place up here.
Answer Merritt's Antigues, located in Pa., is the closest supply house that sells to the public. View and order from their on-line catalog. Goto <merrits.com> Search for chime rods. You might want to take advantage of their 800 number to discuse the problem. Regards WJP
